List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
Tag seven people to do the same. (or not)
Do not tag the person who tagged youor say that you tag "whoever wants to do it". (do what you want)
(I totally would tag 7 others to do it but Hazel did almost everyone I know on here)

Yeah, so I've posted this before. And it's not the best. But I totally had a dream about the first few lines and it was stuck in my head, so I'm reposting it because it's my favouritest poem I've ever done!
Nonsense Rhyme, by Iain McDonald
Alert! Alert!
The horses are hurt!
They're tired and sore and their legs won't work!
To Work! To Work!
Said Captain Kirk!
As the Klingons exploded and Romulans lurked!
Away! Away!
Away I say!
Don't spread the disease so I die today!
Today! Today!
And come what may!
Fate creeps up so subtle and fey!
Be Free! Be Free!
And come out to see!
That there's no difference 'tween you and me!
And Me! And Me!
I shout sadly!
Aware of society's mass ennui!
Come run and fly and live and die and see the world in a whole new light!
The light of reason gives way to nonsense gives way to reason and thus we fight!
Circle! Circle! Circle unending!
Hug a square and let peace be a mending!
But leaving geometry is also alright.
Hug the square give the circle a bite!
Then swim through the ocean and sing to the fish!
And all the coral and seaweed delish!
And marvel and wonder at the things that you'll miss!
As you turn away and fall under the mermaid's kiss!
To Drown! To Drown!
Turn your life around!
And keep at bay the underground!
The darkness and crushing of your life going mad as you realise your choices you've made have been bad!
But crawl and moan to dog and cat and glide and laugh to bird and bat and sing and sigh to grass and tree and find your life is filled with glee!
For pipe and trumpet fill your life and choir and piano end your strife and imagination is the key to living your life so happily!
The rhyme and fall of rhythm and rise can become convoluted before your eyes!

The point of most religions and spiritual pursuits seems to be casting an eye toward heaven and learning to live without the material world. We use meditation to enter the world within, a place of imagination and soul, of introspection and the ability to live in worlds of our own making where the physical laws do not exist. Or we work towards the Out There, the existence of immortality that transcends this world and it's many failings and is achieved by who we are and what we do. Indeed, these requirements are themselves devoid of the physical because they're determined by our morals and ethics, our choices and emotions. They're determined by intangible things which are hard to define by physical laws. Sure we could run a brain scan to look at electrical activity and we could gain a good understanding of blood chemistry but it still gives a sense of emotion. There is no scale or intensity allowed because we feel different things at different levels. But I'm sliding away from my point.
The point is that religions point to the higher being, the transcendent, the thing which shirks all physical laws and tells us that we can do the same. It's the drive for us to be better than we are, and gives us the dreams of flight and the wish for a salvation from a material world. We are taught that morals cannot be gained from material possessions and that no matter how rich we are it cannot help towards a spiritual or emotional growth.
"Money cannot buy happiness."
But it can rent it for a while.
Try as I might I cannot find transcendence from the material. This physical world is all around me and my every thought is influenced by it. During times of meditation (to drum and bass) I can enter the In Here, but the music that lifts my soul is heard through natural laws and through the physiology. I can walk through the world and be inspired enough to search for an Out There, but the things that inspire me are organic or artificial, but most definitely of this reality. No matter where I look or what I think, the physical world will intrude. And when I try to lift above that, I'm bogged down by real-world demands. Even the thing that can envision the intangible and dream the impossible, is itself made of real-world stuff.
In order to progress, I must understand the material and I must be at peace with it. This includes how I interact with my environment and most especially how my vehicle of thought and intent interacts with it. It's hard to cast away the shackles of this reality when my body can't run for more than 20 seconds. And it's hard to be in meditation when I often feel tired and occasionally get struck down by depression. How easy is it to find that you've dwelt on how ugly you are or how fat you are for hours at a time, a background thought that you've been entirely focused on as your body goes through the daily routine? It seems that if I want to examine and question the mysteries of the immaterial universe I first have to put to rest the flaws and uncertainties of the physical. And that means that I have to, first and foremost, take care of my body (so that I can do the things that it was created to be able to do) and my mind (so that those nagging thoughts go away)
This is my New Year's resolution.
Abrupt ending. I've run out of mindjuice.

I have created a new word
"Lexicomorphise"
It's when people describe others using a word that isn't usually a descriptor. It could be a noun that encapsulates them (He's such a couch!) , it could be a made up word that describes them based on the sound (She's so **murfle!**), or it could be a word that engenders a certain feeling He is a cancer on this neighbourhood)
Lexicomorphise, Lexicomorphism, etc, etc, etc.
Spread it, friends, spread it into the world!!
PS: I should learn how to give compliments to total strangers better.

Prophecies of Salushen
The characters are moving to a new and exciting location.
They have goals and plans.
They're starting to care for the world in which they exist.
I have plans laid for these two new and exciting locations.
I have maps and information written down ahead of time.
I have a wiki being made and an adventure log.
I have new music, posters, and ideas.
"It's time to take this to the next level!"

My uvula is inflamed and swollen and as such is resting on the back of my tongue and making me swallow reflexively and it feels like I'm swallowing my uvula!! I hate it. I hate it so much. Cut it out of me because I don't need a trembling singing voice and English doesn't use the sounds it can make!!

When I woke up this morning, I was sick.
The night before when I was surrounded by friends and talking right at them, thus breathing on them, I just had a slightly tickly throat which I shrugged off as being my usual cough-that-never-goes-away.
So, um, I think you guys may have to chock up on vitamins and stuff!
/sorry

Prepare for the main meal:
Take 4 - 5 artichokes and snip off the tips of each leaf and cut a cross into the base, 1cm deep.
Put them in a pot and fill it with water halfway up the artichokes.
Simmer the artichokes for 15 minutes.
Remove from the pot, and tear the artichokes into quarters.
Remove each leaf and take out the fleshy bottom part of the leaves. This is the only edible part of each leaf.
Remove the central hairy core and the stem from the fleshy heart of the artichoke. This is the only edible part of the middle.
After that you'll have perhaps 1 - 1.5 handfuls of edible artichoke pieces.
Chop them up, put them to one side, and wonder why you bothered in the first place.
Main meal:
Take a table spoon of butter and two tablespoons of olive oil and combine them in a warm pan.
Take half a chopped onion and the artichoke pieces and fry them in the oil and melted butter. Do this until the onion is soft (5 - 7 minutes worked for me)
At this point start boiling some water in another pot. You're going to be boiling enough water to cook spaghetti for two.
Add one can of diced tomatoes (I used the Signature Range "Diced Italian tomatoes with Basil and mixed herbs" but I'm sure any will do)
Allow to simmer until there're lots of bubbles everywhere.
Add around 150 - 250 mls of fresh cream (depending on how much you can poor in before you feel guilty ;)
Add angelhair spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes [until it's soft, basically, and it goes soft fast! (ha)]
Drain spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the artichoke concoction and let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring it around and folding the vegies and sauce into the spaghetti while you're doing so.
Turn off the heat, and serve while it's still bubbling away!

This forum is for no particular person. The fact that you can log on without the approval or permission of another means that it's yours, for whatever reason made you think up a username to begin with.
If you want to talk about how you think the universe runs, go right ahead. If you want to ask questions and share ideas, then that's your right. It's not for one person to say "this is how it is" and leave you feeling stupid. Remember, feeling stupid is also your choice because who is someone to say that your views are wrong? If you have doubt, then they are wrong. If you have conviction, then they're right.
Because none of us knows for certain.
If someone says that "ur doin it wrong" or "this isn't what this place is for" then MAKE it that way. The brilliant thing about online space is that there can exist one place within another place. Both places can occupy the same space because what makes it different is the observer. Magic, divinity, and spiritual guidance within the internet is powerful because it really is just information and static energy. But how it's laid out affects you, the person who sees it.
"Both cyberspace and magical space are purely manifest in the imagination, both spaces are entirely constructed by your thoughts and beliefs." - Mark Pesce (one of the first technopagans)
And so this forum is a different beast for each of us. And thus it is a different thing for you. So make it whatever you want.
You have that right, and that power.
